HIGHLIGHTING AMAZING PEOPLE
BARBARA STEWART
Children who have experienced trauma can have special challenges that often leave caregivers confused and frustrated. Barbara has seen this first hand. She was a house parent for teens in Asia, where she lived for 13 years. This role became much more than a job to Barbara. Her heart for the young overflows and you can tell her passion when you meet her. For years she has been studying brain development and the effects of trauma on children. She has worked with countless individuals and organizations to train others in trauma response for children. Her new organization Made 4 Connection works as a basecamp for training others. Barbara brings hope and light into a world that often seems very dark and isolating. We are thankful for the hope she brings.

SERGIO VERA AND GUSTAVO GALVAN
Sergio and Gus are two outstanding men who answered the call of God on their lives. They were both involved in local gangs and drug abuse when God reached down and spoke to them through a local pastor and church. Now they are serving on staff and loving the people out of the darkness they were once caught in. 100 West Foundation couldn’t think of a better place for funds to be allocated than to these two faith-filled and faithful men who are change agents in their community

DAVID AND KATYA BUTE
David and Katya have lived and served in Ukraine for the past 25 years. Their work in job creation and their ministry with families has been complicated by the war these past two years. They are now trying to help people hold their lives together for as long as this war persists. The needs of the locals and many displaced people from around the country are being met at their new counseling center named, “Refectio.” They know that the trauma will continue for years to come so they are preparing and training people to meet the needs of their fellow countrymen. We met David and Katya at a NOVO Conference (novo.org) and were so impressed with their hearts and willingness to remain in Ukraine to offer comfort, help and hope!
